American University Men’s Basketball Releases United Message against Racism and Social Injustice
“Most merciful and gracious God, we call upon you in this hour of need, as we draw upon every fiber of “All Faiths” to lift up Your Holy Name and place our cares upon You, through the Power of Prayer. We petition you to gently watch over us, while we endure this challenging season of famine, which has manifested in the devastating effect of the Covid-19 Pandemic… Racial Injustice and Inequality and Social Unrest. Walk with us while we run this race… Speak to us as we lift our voice … Hold our hands, that they not become fist … Enter our hearts, so that our rage will shift and emerge into a rehabilitated state of compassion. Draw us nearer to You, that we may walk, speak and act in love towards one another. As You allow me to complete this Circle of Prayer, grant me the strength and courage to stand in as an Intercessory Prayer Warrior on behalf of my Son, Christian, his fellow Teammates and Coaches of the American University Basketball Team. Graciously anoint their powerful expressions and United Message against racism and social injustice, proclaimed within the American University Production Video. Allow us to see them with new eyes…hear them with new ears and receive them with an open heart. We also wish to include within this Circle of Prayer … ALL of Your People that have been adversely affected within every community of our Nation and the World. I Declare an Abundance of Your Grace to shower upon them and us, as it is written in your Living Word. I humbly and openly invite All of my like-minded “Soul Companions” reading and listening to join me in this Circle of Prayer. You are All welcome here.

WASHINGTON – In the wake of George Floyd’s death and the ensuing protests around the country centered around police brutality and systemic racism, members of the American University men’s basketball team released a united message on Thursday sharing their experiences with race and social injustice.
“We’ve been having a lot of discussions with our team over the past few weeks about all of the events that are happening across our nation and throughout the world, specifically about the scourge of racism in our country,” said head men’s basketball coach Mike Brennan. “Our team decided that they wanted to collect their thoughts and put together a video. As coaches and educators, it’s important that we provide an environment of support and empowerment so that their voices can be heard.”
The video, shared on all of AU Men’s Basketball’s social media platforms, featured every single player and coach currently on next season’s roster.
